Jon Gosselin urges estranged children to read son Collin's memoir
Jon Gosselin asked his six children he does not currently speak with to read Collin Gosselin's memoir and consider reaching out, while noting his desire to reconnect with the family.
Jon Gosselin, 49, told "Entertainment Tonight" that he hopes his six children will read the memoir released by his son Collin and consider re-establishing contact. "I hope you understand that I still love you," he said, adding that he wants his children to form their own opinions after learning more about the family dynamics described in the book.
Gosselin said he has not spoken to the twins Mady and Cara, 26, or the four sextuplets Aeden, Leah, Joel and Alexis, all 22, for many years, though he maintains relationships with Collin and his daughter Hannah, both 22. He described the siblings as "perfect strangers" and said he has tried to reach out but has received no response.
Collin's memoir alleges severe child abuse and emotional manipulation by their mother, Kate Gosselin, claims she has denied. The book also notes that Collin has not spoken to his siblings, except Hannah, for a decade. Jon Gosselin said the book is not the primary issue; rather, he wants to know how his children are doing.
Kate Gosselin responded to her son's allegations on TikTok, stating that her children know who she is and that this is what matters to her. Jon Gosselin indicated he may consider legal action against his ex-wife, suggesting potential grounds for a defamation and libel suit.
