Democratic candidate Abigail Spanberger receives endorsements from former Republican Representatives Barbara Comstock and Denver Riggleman ahead of early voting in Virginia's gubernatorial election.
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger has secured endorsements from former Republican Representatives Barbara Comstock and Denver Riggleman as she approaches the final phase of her campaign in Virginia. The bipartisan support includes a new advertisement featuring both ex-lawmakers.
In the advertisement, Riggleman states, "I saw firsthand that Abigail was one of the most bipartisan members of Congress," while Comstock adds, "My support for Abigail isn't about party, it's what's best for Virginia."
Spanberger's opponent, Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, has been addressing national political tensions during her campaign. In a recent social media post, Earle-Sears remarked, "This election is a choice between sanity and chaos. We must protect our children from Abigail Spanberger's extremist agenda."
Early in-person voting for the Virginia governor's race is set to begin on Friday.
