Trump Says No Immediate US Strike on Iran, Notes Limited Activity at Nuclear Sites
President Donald Trump said the United States will not launch a military strike on Iran today and reported limited activity at several Iranian nuclear facilities.
President Donald Trump told reporters on Sunday that the United States will not carry out a military strike against Iran on that day. When asked if an attack could occur that same day, he responded, “Would I tell you that? The answer is no. There will not be a strike today.”
Trump did not rule out the possibility of future action, saying he has not yet decided whether to resume strikes or pursue an agreement, adding, “Should I finish the job – which would be very easy to do – or should I reach an agreement? That is the whole decision."
He also said the U.S. is monitoring activity at Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site and three other locations that were reportedly damaged in earlier strikes, noting, “There isn’t much activity going on there.”
The remarks followed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement on X that Israel faces an existential threat from Iran and that a limited window remains for coordinated action. Netanyahu shared a video of an IDF anti-missile battery and warned that the Israeli military is prepared for both defensive and offensive operations.
Earlier in the week, Trump indicated that Washington was considering another military operation against Iran, referencing a potential follow-up to the earlier “Epic Fury” strikes during a campaign rally in Florida.
