Kate Gosselin Says Her Children Recognize Her Amid Son's Abuse Claims
Kate Gosselin affirmed that her children know her true character as her son Collin Gosselin publicized abuse allegations in a memoir and discussed a forthcoming Netflix documentary.
Kate Gosselin posted a TikTok message on Thursday celebrating boyfriend Steve Neild’s birthday and thanked a fan for supportive comments, stating, "I know who I am and my kids know who I truly am and to me, that’s all that matters." The remarks came after her son Collin Gosselin alleged on "The View" that his sister Hannah was pressured to claim the siblings had not spoken for a year as part of "damage control" related to an upcoming Netflix documentary featuring Collin and their father.
Hannah Gosselin issued a statement saying she maintains a relationship with her mother and other siblings, but has not lived with their father for over a year and has not spoken to Collin for roughly a year. She declined further comment on Collin’s alleged behavior during their childhood.
Collin, who detailed accusations of physical restraint, hitting, and isolation in his memoir "In the Shadow of Eight," also claimed his mother sent him to a psychiatric facility at age 12 without informing the family. He later moved in with his father after custody was granted in December 2018. In a recent interview, Collin said he would like his mother to apologize and take accountability for the alleged abuse.
Kate Gosselin has previously denied the abuse allegations made by her son.
