Bombardier to Invest $270 Million in U.S. Operations and Create 800 Jobs
Bombardier announced a $270 million investment to expand its U.S. footprint, adding 800 jobs across several states and aiming to support more than 33,000 American jobs.
Bombardier, the Montreal-based aircraft manufacturer, said it will invest $270 million to expand its operations in the United States and create 800 new positions. The expansion will include projects in Texas, Indiana, Kansas and Connecticut, with roughly half of the jobs located in Texas, according to reports.
The company plans to open a new training hub in Wichita, Kansas, and a service center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in November. These facilities are expected to raise the total number of U.S. jobs supported by Bombardier to over 33,000 across more than 20 states.
"Based on our constructive conversations with the US administration, we see a bright path forward for our highly skilled aerospace workers, as well as a positive environment for Bombardier to continue pursuing direct investments to grow our American footprint," CEO Eric Martel said in a statement.
The announcement follows recent comments by President Trump on the company's social-media platform, where he highlighted the potential for thousands of American jobs from Bombardier's plans.
