Colleen Conrad pledges lifelong mother role to Collin Gosselin after memoir release
Following the publication of his memoir, Collin Gosselin received a supportive Instagram message from his former stepmother, Colleen Conrad, who affirmed she will always be there for him.
Colleen Conrad, who dated Jon Gosselin from 2014 to 2021, posted an Instagram tribute on Oct. 23 after Collin Gosselin released his memoir Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood. In the caption she highlighted his achievement as a #1 New York Times bestseller and expressed pride in his work.
Conrad wrote that she entered Collin’s life after he had already endured significant hardships and that she wanted him to feel safe, loved, and supported. She recalled shared moments of laughter, tears, holidays and everyday life, and said she would continue to act as a mother figure regardless of his age.
"No matter how old you get or where life takes you, I will always be your mom. I will always love you and cheer you on," Conrad wrote.
Collin responded to the post, thanking Conrad for her support and noting that her belief in him helped restore his confidence. He also reflected on his strained relationship with his biological mother, Kate Gosselin, and acknowledged Conrad’s role in his life.
The exchange follows Collin’s memoir, which details his childhood experiences and his estrangement from his mother. Conrad had previously posted a birthday tribute to Collin in June, describing her as a strong woman who chose to be a mother during a difficult period in his life.
