Police Report Details RJ Mitte's Dispute Over Alleged Mismanagement of Acting Earnings
Documents obtained by the Daily Mail show that RJ Mitte and his mother filed a theft complaint in 2015 alleging that his financial manager mishandled his earnings, though no criminal charges were filed.
RJ Mitte hired Harrison Business Management in 2011 to handle the income, bills, insurance and taxes of his acting company, RFM3 Services. In September 2015, Mitte and his mother, Dyna Mitte, reported concerns to the Santa Monica Police Department, prompting Detective Richard Elias to record a theft allegation involving the management firm.
According to the police account, the firm was instructed to follow a strict budget to preserve savings and limit debt. The complaint arose after checks issued by RFM3 began bouncing, leading Dyna Mitte to contact police. The report notes that Mitte was not personally involved in large cash withdrawals or major investments, using only his own debit and credit cards.
The Daily Mail indicates that Mitte earned up to $500,000 annually in his late teens from acting, modeling and public speaking. He later discussed the alleged financial losses on a 2025 podcast, without naming the manager.
No criminal charges or civil lawsuits were filed against Lisa Harrison, the owner of Harrison Business Management. Her husband, attorney David Brody, declined to comment, stating she did nothing wrong.
Harrison was previously involved in an unrelated civil dispute with another client, which was resolved through arbitration without a finding of fraud.
Mitte died by suicide on October 12 at his home in Brownsville, Texas. He was best known for his role as Walter White Jr. on "Breaking Bad" and was also active as a disability-rights advocate.
