French Stewart defends Anna Faris after Chuck Lorre's memoir criticism

Summary

Former "Mom" co-star French Stewart praised Anna Faris and condemned Chuck Lorre's negative remarks about her in his recent memoir.

French Stewart, who played Chef Rudy on the CBS sitcom "Mom," posted a nostalgic photo of his former co-star Anna Faris on Instagram, calling her one of his “all-time favorite co-stars.” He described Faris as “funny, kind and prepared,” adding that she consistently delivered on show nights during the eight years they worked together.

Stewart said it was “disheartening to see Chuck Lorre throw her under the television bus in his new book.” Lorre’s memoir, released on Oct. 13, includes a passage in which he claims his initial reluctance to cast Faris was justified and suggests she left the series in 2020 for “mysterious reasons.”

“Whenever I saw Anna — I saw a woman working hard to make a good show. Whenever I saw Chuck — I saw a man trying hard not to turn into a werewolf,” Stewart wrote.

Actor George Paez, who appeared on the show as Ramone, also expressed support for Faris, noting that she made him feel welcomed and remembered his name on set.

Representatives for Lorre and Faris did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Faris previously addressed Lorre’s comments in an Instagram Story, acknowledging the surprise and expressing that she is “grateful” for her time on the show and for her personal progress in sobriety.
