The Tennessee Titans announced the release of defensive lineman Jordan Elliott on Tuesday after an incident at the team's facility on Thursday. According to reports, an argument with teammate JC Latham led Elliott to retrieve a gun from his car.
Latham, speaking to a team insider, described the episode as “just an unfortunate situation” that occurred in the heat of the moment and emphasized that there had been no prior animosity between the players. He added that mental-health concerns are important and expressed concern for Elliott.
Teammate John Franklin-Myers intervened, escorting Elliott to the garage and persuading him to put the weapon away, after which Latham thanked Franklin-Myers for his actions.
