Apple readies giant iPhone Duo displays at Fifth Avenue store ahead of launch

Summary

Apple is installing large, cloth-covered structures resembling the iPhone Duo at its flagship Fifth Avenue location as the device’s release approaches on Friday.

Apple is preparing its flagship Fifth Avenue store in New York for the upcoming iPhone Duo launch. Large rectangular installations have been placed around the iconic glass cube entrance, currently hidden beneath black cloth and white protective wrapping, suggesting they will become giant representations of the new phone.

The company has a history of marking iPhone releases with special store displays. Last year the store featured giant “Pro” and “Air” models, and earlier this year the cube was lit in Apple Intelligence colors for the iPhone 16 launch. The cube was also decorated in burgundy, silver and blue for the iPhone 18 Pro launch.

Apple confirmed that its U.S. retail locations will hold a limited number of iPhone Duo units for walk-in customers on Friday, while stores in markets such as mainland China, Japan and France will offer the device only through in-store pickup after online orders.

Customers have begun queuing at other Apple stores, though no line has formed at the Fifth Avenue location yet.
