Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin ruled out for season with torn patellar tendon

Summary

Terry McLaurin will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery for a torn patellar tendon sustained in the loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin suffered a torn patellar tendon during Monday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers and will miss the rest of the season. The injury was confirmed by head coach Dan Quinn at a press conference on Tuesday.

McLaurin, who recorded a 27-yard reception before the injury, had totaled 15 catches for 230 yards and one touchdown in five games this year. He also missed seven games last season with a quadriceps injury but had played in every contest over the previous four seasons.

The player is under contract with Washington for two additional seasons, though his long-term role could be affected by potential roster changes if the team’s performance does not improve after a 1-4-1 start.

"We’re disappointed to lose Terry for the season, but we’ll focus on his recovery and getting him back healthy," Quinn said.
