Samsung reportedly plans expanded Galaxy Z Fold 9 lineup for 2027
Leaks suggest Samsung will introduce several new foldable models, including a Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro, a Galaxy Z TriFold 2 and a slideable Galaxy Z Slide, alongside the expected Z Flip 9.
Samsung is rumored to be preparing a broad range of foldable smartphones for 2027, according to a leak posted on X. The information lists a Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro as an addition to the existing Fold 9 series, a second-generation Galaxy Z TriFold and a new slide-type device dubbed the Galaxy Z Slide. The TriFold 2 would follow the original multi-hinged phone released in late 2025 and is expected to be lighter and easier to manufacture. The Slide concept, first shown at industry events, would feature a vertically extending screen, though it remains unclear whether a production model will materialise. The leaked lineup also includes the standard Galaxy Z Flip 9. Samsung has not confirmed any of the models, and the timing of releases has not been disclosed.
"The Galaxy Z Fold series looks refined in its eighth iteration, so a new model would fit within the current design language," a Samsung spokesperson said in a product briefing.
Analysts note that the proposed TriFold 2 could align with the upcoming Galaxy S27 series, while the Fold 9 Pro may offer higher performance or a different aspect ratio than the current Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra. The rumors remain unverified and represent speculative planning for the company's 2027 portfolio.
