DNA Evidence Links Tyler Robinson to Charlie Kirk's Killing, FBI Director Confirms
FBI Director Kash Patel announced that DNA evidence ties suspect Tyler Robinson to the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced on Monday that DNA evidence has linked 22-year-old Tyler Robinson to the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.
Patel stated that DNA matching Robinson was found on a towel wrapped around the rifle believed to have been used in the shooting, as well as on a screwdriver recovered from the rooftop where the shot was fired.
Authorities are also investigating a note reportedly written by Robinson prior to the shooting, which expressed intent to harm Kirk.
Robinson, who was arrested near his hometown of St. George, Utah, is expected to face capital murder charges. He has not been cooperating with law enforcement.
Kirk, a prominent conservative figure and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University, raising concerns about political violence in the United States.
Tributes to Kirk continue nationwide, with memorials at the Kennedy Center and moments of silence at major sporting events. Vice President JD Vance, a close friend of Kirk, is set to host Kirk's talk show on Rumble in his honor.
