Sean "Diddy" Combs transferred to low-security federal prison in Pennsylvania

Summary

Sean "Diddy" Combs was moved from a New Jersey facility to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania after reports of preferential treatment and a prison fight.

Sean "Diddy" Combs, 56, was transferred by the Federal Bureau of Prisons from the medium-security Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, to the low-security Federal Correctional Institution Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, a Bureau official said. The move follows media reports that Combs was enjoying amenities such as contraband alcohol, a personal cellphone and other comforts while incarcerated, and that he was injured in an altercation at Fort Dix.

The Bureau of Prisons confirmed the relocation but declined to provide details, stating that it does not discuss individual placement decisions for privacy, safety and security reasons.

"Decisions about inmate placement are made by the BOP, and we are not in a position to speak to the circumstances surrounding this transfer," said Combs' spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer. "Sean remains focused on moving forward, and we hope that his time at the new facility will be productive and without unnecessary disruption."

Combs is serving a four-year, two-month sentence after a conviction last year on prostitution-related charges involving the transportation of individuals across state lines for sexual encounters. He has also been placed in the prison's special housing unit and lost 41 days of good-conduct credit, extending his projected release to March 2, 2028.

His legal team continues to pursue an appeal, with the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals hearing arguments in April on a request to overturn the conviction and sentence. The court has not yet issued a ruling.
