Pope Leo XIV was released from a Rome hospital on Saturday afternoon, four days after undergoing lung cancer surgery, Vatican officials said. Doctors described the operation, which removed a malignant nodule and part of his right lung, as successful. Post-operative blood tests and chest X-rays performed early Saturday indicated he was fit for discharge. After leaving the hospital, the pope returned to the Vatican.
