Packers running back Josh Jacobs cleared to return to team facility pending ongoing investigation
Josh Jacobs will be allowed back to the Packers' facility for Week 7, though the league's investigation into a domestic incident continues.
The NFL has removed running back Josh Jacobs from the commissioner’s exempt list effective Monday, allowing him to re-enter the Green Bay Packers’ facility and work toward a roster spot for Week 7. The league’s investigation into a domestic-incident allegation remains open, and officials said the case is still being examined. Jacobs’ attorney confirmed that the woman involved has not been interviewed due to privacy concerns.
"Josh has dedicated the last several months to bettering himself, and he accepts responsibility for his actions," a spokesperson said.
The NFL indicated that a video related to the incident exists, but parties are attempting to keep it from public release. Local police are seeking its disclosure, and officials noted that if the video becomes public, the league could consider a longer suspension.
Jacobs expressed gratitude for support from teammates, coaches and the organization, and said he will not comment further while legal matters are pending.
