Jackson Chourio leads Brewers with leadoff homer as Brewers beat Dodgers 6-2 in NLCS Game 3
Jackson Chourio hit a first-pitch leadoff home run off Blake Snell, and the Milwaukee Brewers added two more homers to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2, taking a 3-0 lead in the National League Championship Series.
Milwaukee opened National League Championship Series Game 3 with a leadoff home run when Jackson Chourio connected on the first pitch from two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell, giving the Brewers a 1-0 lead. Snell stayed in the game, but the Dodgers responded in the sixth inning to go ahead 2-1. Milwaukee answered in the seventh inning with two additional home runs off Snell: Jake Bauers delivered a two-run shot after an 11-pitch at-bat, and Garrett Mitchell followed with a solo homer, extending the lead to 4-2. The Brewers held on to win 6-2, putting them ahead 3-0 in the best-of-seven series. The Dodgers now face the challenge of winning four straight games to advance, a feat achieved only by the 2004 Boston Red Sox in MLB playoff history.
