Brewers take 3-0 series lead over Dodgers with 6-2 win
Milwaukee defeated Los Angeles 6-2 in Game 3, giving the Brewers a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-seven series.
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 on Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium, extending their series lead to three games. Jackson Chourio opened the game with a home run on Blake Snell’s first pitch, and rookie pitcher Robert Gasser delivered five shutout innings to protect the early lead.
The Dodgers tied the game in the sixth inning when Will Smith hit a two-run double, but Milwaukee responded in the seventh. After Snell walked Andrew Vaughn, Jake Bauers hit an 11-pitch, two-run homer, and Garrett Mitchell followed with another home run to make it 4-2. A wild pitch in the eighth and a single by Joey Ortiz in the ninth added insurance runs, while relievers DL Hall and Trevor Megill completed the final 3.2 innings without allowing a run.
"You just gotta win tomorrow. We've just got to get a win and find a way to build some momentum," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after the game.
After the win, Bauers said the previous year’s squad "flew to LA knowing we were heading to a funeral," while this group arrived expecting to win.
Milwaukee now needs one more victory to sweep the series and advance to the next round.
