Joe Manganiello Discusses Final Conversation with Sofia Vergara in New Memoir
In his memoir Bloodlines, actor Joe Manganiello recounts his last exchange with ex-wife Sofia Vergara and addresses claims about the reasons for their 2024 divorce.
Actor Joe Manganiello detailed his final conversation with Sofia Vergara in his recently released memoir Bloodlines. He wrote that Vergara told him she believed "no one was going to love me when they found out the full extent of what I had," marking the last time they spoke. Manganiello said the memoir also covers his battle with a mysterious autoimmune disorder that coincided with the end of their marriage.
He contested public narratives that portrayed him as solely responsible for the split, noting that Vergara had previously shared her perspective on their disagreements. Manganiello emphasized that differences over having children were not the primary cause of the divorce, stating that they had already decided to stop trying for children because of his illness.
"I never wanted to be responsible for putting my own desires, selfish or not, before the feelings of anyone else, especially when it came to deeply important subjects like potentially harmful fertility drugs and raising children," Manganiello wrote.
The memoir, reported by Entertainment Weekly and ComingSoon, aims to provide Manganiello's side of the story regarding the dissolution of his marriage to the Modern Family star.
