Apple Releases New Videos Showcasing HomeView Hub, Apple TV 4K, and HomePod mini 2

Summary

Apple posted four product videos on YouTube that demonstrate features of the HomeView smart home hub, the latest Apple TV 4K, and the second-generation HomePod mini.

Apple uploaded four new videos to its YouTube channel to illustrate the capabilities of its recently announced HomeView smart home hub, fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, and HomePod mini 2.

The longest video, titled "Welcome Apple HomeView: Designed for life at home," follows a family through a typical morning, showing Siri retrieving a French toast recipe from Messages, locating misplaced keys, checking evening plans, and facilitating a FaceTime call with grandparents.

A shorter HomeView clip outlines the device’s features, including personalized experiences for up to six users, FaceTime calls, Spatial Audio, smart-home controls, a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and customizable watch-face-style screens.

The HomePod mini 2 video highlights the speaker’s compact design, available in green, pink, blue, midnight and white finishes, and promotes multi-room audio and Siri AI, which Apple says will be added in a future software update.

The Apple TV 4K video emphasizes Dolby Vision and HDR10+ playback, hands-free Siri control via built-in microphones, and a sound-based method to locate the updated Siri Remote. It also showcases a new four-speaker surround-sound configuration that can pair with HomePod mini 2 and second-generation HomePod speakers for matching front and rear audio.

Alongside the videos, Apple introduced the Apple Home Collection, a suite of cameras, a door lock, thermostats and sensors developed in partnership with LG and Schneider.
