Rockstar reportedly targets early 2027 for Grand Theft Auto 6 PC launch

Summary

Industry sources cited by GamesBeat say Rockstar plans to release Grand Theft Auto VI on PC in the first quarter of 2027, a few months after its console debut in November 2026.

Rockstar Games is expected to bring Grand Theft Auto VI to PC in the first three months of 2027, according to a report that references four industry sources familiar with the studio’s schedule. The console versions are slated for release on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

"GamesBeat has confirmed that Rockstar plans to release the PC version of GTA 6 in the first quarter of 2027, according to four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans, all of whom requested anonymity to avoid damaging business relationships," the article states.

A Rockstar spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment before publication. The projected PC launch would give the game a console-exclusive window of roughly two to five months, considerably shorter than the gaps seen with previous titles such as GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

The report also notes that Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said Rockstar is discussing plans for a new GTA Online component tied to the 2027 release, adding that a larger multiplayer update is expected the following year.

"We spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans, and also helping them think about how they can engage our creators. You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer," Clancy said.

Rockstar has not officially confirmed the PC timeline, and the information should be treated as provisional.
