Apple plans M7-powered entry-level MacBook Pro with redesign for early 2027
Apple is set to launch a redesigned 14-inch entry-level MacBook Pro powered by its upcoming M7 chip in the first half of 2027, following a high-end redesign rollout later in 2026.
Apple is preparing a refreshed entry-level MacBook Pro, code-named K104, that will feature a new chassis and be equipped with the upcoming M7 processor. Bloomberg reports the device, a 14-inch model, is slated for release in the first half of 2027, shortly after the high-end MacBook Pro redesign expected later in 2026.
The redesign is anticipated to include a thinner body, OLED displays with touch capability, and possibly a Dynamic Island interface. A separate entry-level MacBook Pro with the current design and an M6 chip is expected to launch in fall 2026, alongside the high-end models that will use M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
According to the report, Apple has shifted its roadmap, abandoning a planned high-end M6 chip in favor of accelerating development of the M7 series. The projected timeline places the M6-based entry model and the high-end redesign in fall 2026, the M7-based entry model in spring 2027, and a high-end refresh with M7 Pro/Max chips in fall 2027.
