Sofia Vergara's son posts about narcissism after ex-husband's memoir excerpts released

Summary

Manolo Gonzalez Vergara shared a social-media message warning about narcissists, coinciding with the publication of Joe Manganiello's memoir that contains allegations about their former marriage.

Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, 35, posted an Instagram Story on Oct. 8 that compared traits of a "good man" with those of a "narcissistic man," noting that "when dealing with a narcissist, it doesn't matter how much you do for them, because they will resent you for it and nothing will ever be enough, and they'll always somehow try to paint you as the bad guy." The following day, his mother, actress Sofia Vergara, 54, reposted the story and also shared a comment from Tom Brady about the value of self-deprecating humor.

The posts appeared after excerpts from Manganiello's memoir, Bloodlines, were released earlier in the week. In the book, the actor, 49, wrote that his autoimmune disease strained the marriage and described their relationship as lacking emotional connection. He also alleged that Vergara denied him affection and disputed her public explanation for the divorce, which she said was related to differing desires about having children.

Manganiello and Vergara were married from 2015 until 2024. Both have offered contrasting accounts of the reasons behind their separation.
