Wladimir Klitschko Granted Temporary Guardianship of Hayden Panettiere's Estate
The former boxer received temporary control of his late ex-fiancée's estate after appearing in court with their 11-year-old daughter, who confirmed her identity remotely.
Wladimir Klitschko was awarded temporary guardianship of Hayden Panettiere's estate during a Thursday hearing. His 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, appeared via video link to verify her identity and spoke with the judge while wearing a white T-shirt. > "Klitschko was granted temporary guardianship of his ex-fiancée’s estate during Thursday’s hearing," the court record indicated.
Klitschko's attorney also asked that he be allowed to request a law-enforcement investigation into the alleged misappropriation of Panettiere's belongings by a non-family individual. The boxer previously filed documents alleging that a pawn shop had taken possession of the actress's jewelry and other items, and that the shop would only provide details if contacted by authorities.
In filings, Klitschko argued that Kaya, who resides with him in Ukraine, is entitled to the entirety of her mother's assets and that it is "urgent and essential" for him to manage those assets on her behalf. Sources close to the family reportedly expressed support for the filing, describing Klitschko as a responsible parent.
Panettiere and Klitschko began dating in 2009, became engaged in 2013, and welcomed Kaya in December 2014. After their split in 2018, Klitschko was granted full custody of their daughter. The actress died in August at age 36 from an accidental overdose involving multiple substances.
