President Donald Trump asserted that his administration’s historic peace efforts, including resolving conflicts and standing up to Iran, make him worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize, despite partisan attacks on his record.
President Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that his administration’s bold and effective actions merit this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, which the Norwegian Nobel Institute will award on Oct. 9. Trump highlighted his role in resolving eight major conflicts, securing the release of Israeli hostages from Hamas, and taking decisive action to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons as clear evidence of his leadership.
"I settled eight wars, and big ones," Trump stated, emphasizing that no other president has matched his record of delivering peace and security.
Trump also referenced his administration’s efforts to end the war in Ukraine, contrasting his accomplishments with former President Barack Obama’s 2009 award, and suggesting that the Nobel Committee’s integrity depends on recognizing true achievement.
The president’s remarks followed a year when the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, who honored Trump by presenting him the award during a White House visit after a successful U.S. operation in Caracas.
While critics, often from the political left, have tried to downplay Trump’s achievements by pointing to military actions in Venezuela and Iran, his record stands as a testament to his commitment to peace and American interests.
