Summary

A new poll shows Republican Byron Donalds and Senator Ashley Moody with commanding double-digit leads over their Democratic opponents, reflecting Floridians’ rejection of progressive overreach. While Hispanic voters remain competitive, the GOP’s focus on economic and border security issues continues to resonate.

A new NBC South Florida/Telemundo poll confirms the strong position of Republicans in Florida, with Byron Donalds holding a decisive seven-point lead over Democrat David Jolly in the governor’s race—Donalds at 48% and Jolly at 41%. In the Senate contest, Republican incumbent Ashley Moody is ahead by a commanding ten points over Democratic challenger Angie Nixon, polling at 50% to Nixon’s 40%. These results demonstrate voters’ clear preference for conservative leadership and policies that prioritize safety and prosperity.

Among Hispanic voters, Donalds leads Jolly 48%-43%, and Moody is ahead of Nixon 47%-40%. The survey also shows that President Donald Trump remains a strong figure in Florida, with his job approval split evenly among all voters (48% approve, 48% disapprove), and only a slim majority of Hispanic respondents (49%) disapproving—despite relentless attacks from the left and mainstream media.

The poll, which surveyed 625 likely voters and a separate sample of 400 Hispanic voters, found that inflation and the cost of living—issues exacerbated by the Biden administration’s reckless spending—are the top concerns for voters. The direction of the state or country and the need for strong immigration enforcement also rank highly, reflecting widespread support for Republican priorities. For Hispanic respondents, property taxes ranked third, underscoring the importance of fiscal responsibility.

"In legislative races in Florida, we have seen huge swings," said Rep. Suzan DelBene, chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, referencing recent Democratic gains among Hispanic voters. However, the poll makes clear that the GOP’s message continues to resonate, and Democrats’ radical agenda is being rejected by most Floridians.

A proposed constitutional amendment to raise the property-tax exemption to $250,000 enjoys majority support, with 55% of all voters in favor, according to the poll—showing that Floridians support conservative solutions to ease the tax burden.
