Ex-husband Wladimir Klitschko claims Hayden Panettiere's jewelry was pawned after her death

Summary

Legal filings by Wladimir Klitschko allege that some of Hayden Panettiere's belongings were taken to a pawn shop following her accidental overdose death, which was ruled by the Greenville County Coroner's Office.

Hayden Panettiere was found in cardiac arrest at a Greenville residence on Aug. 16, and despite advanced cardiac life support, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Greenville County Coroner's Office later ruled her death an accident caused by toxic levels of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol and quetiapine. Police reports indicated that an acquaintance placed the 911 call, with both Brian Hickerson, her on-and-off boyfriend, and his brother Zach Hickerson identified as callers. Zach Hickerson told investigators that Brian administered Narcan and that the brothers performed CPR until emergency responders arrived.

The investigation found no signs of trauma, foul play or suspicious circumstances. Brian Hickerson’s attorney, Sloan Ellis, said the case remains under investigation and declined further comment.

In a recent legal filing, Panettiere’s former husband, former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, alleged that some of her jewelry was taken to a pawn shop in the weeks after her death. The filing does not provide details about who pawned the items.

"Hayden's death remains under investigation and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed," Ellis told E! News on Aug. 20.

Family members have spoken publicly about the loss, with her father describing her as a bright presence and her mother noting a strained relationship with Brian Hickerson. The case continues to be examined by local authorities.
