Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson's participation uncertain after ankle sprain

Summary

Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson is dealing with a sprained left ankle, leaving his availability for Sunday’s game against Atlanta in doubt, though the injury is not expected to be long-term.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is nursing a sprained left ankle, and his status for Sunday night’s matchup with the Atlanta Falcons remains uncertain, sources told NFL Network. The injury, sustained just before halftime in the Week 4 win over the Tennessee Titans, required Jackson to leave the game and wear a protective boot.

Head coach Jesse Minter said Jackson is "dealing with a little bit of an ankle" and that the team is still gathering information on his condition. He added that the injury is not considered long-term and does not appear to require surgery, though the duration of Jackson’s absence will depend on his rehabilitation progress.

If Jackson is unable to play, backup quarterback Tyler "Snoop" Huntley is expected to start. The Ravens have a 79-32 record (.712) with Jackson as starter, averaging 28.4 points per game, compared with a 6-11 record (.353) and 17.6 points per game when he has been sidelined since 2019.
