Apple to hold October 13 event to unveil new HomePod mini, Apple TV and smart home hub

Apple is expected to host a product launch event on Oct. 13, according to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman. The company plans to reveal a smart home hub with a display, an updated HomePod mini and a refreshed Apple TV, each incorporating Siri artificial-intelligence capabilities. Gurman reported the details in his Power On newsletter, confirming that the three devices will be introduced together at the event. Industry observers have debated whether the home-device lineup would merit a full-scale keynote, with some commentators suggesting a press release would be insufficient. If the event proceeds, media invitations are likely to be distributed in the coming days.
