Rams rally late to defeat Eagles, leaving both clubs at 2-2
Los Angeles overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat Philadelphia 24-20, while injuries and offensive struggles continue to trouble the Eagles.
Los Angeles snapped a winless streak with a 24-20 comeback victory over Philadelphia on Sunday, moving both teams to 2-2 on the season. The Rams trailed by ten points entering the final quarter, but quarterback Matthew Stafford orchestrated two scoring drives in the last four minutes, each capped by a Kyren Williams touchdown.
Philadelphia was unable to capitalize on its early lead, going 0-for-12 on third-down attempts and failing to sustain a drive in the closing minutes. The Eagles also dealt with significant injuries, entering the game without wide receiver DeVonta Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert, and later losing running back Saquon Barkley to a hamstring issue.
Stafford, who had struggled with turnovers throughout the game, threw two interceptions but recovered in the fourth quarter. The Rams' defense limited the Eagles to 172 total yards, while quarterback Jalen Hurts was ineffective, contributing to Philadelphia's offensive woes.
"No, no, no, his job is not in jeopardy," Rams head coach Sean Payton said of offensive coordinator Davis Webb after the game, emphasizing confidence in the coaching staff.
The loss adds to the Eagles' early-season concerns, as they have now lost two of their last three games and face questions about Hurts' performance without key playmakers. Both clubs will look to address their inconsistencies as the NFL season progresses.
