Powerball jackpot reaches $440 million after Saturday draw

Summary

The October 3 Powerball drawing produced the numbers 04-42-44-55-59 with Powerball 14, but officials have not yet confirmed a jackpot winner for the $440 million prize.

The latest Powerball drawing on Saturday, Oct. 3, yielded the winning numbers 04-42-44-55-59 and a Powerball of 14, with the Power Play multiplier set at 2×. Lottery officials are still verifying tickets to determine whether any player matched all six numbers and claimed the estimated $440 million jackpot, which has a cash option of $181.3 million.

The prize pool has risen since an Illinois ticket won a $1.04 billion jackpot on Aug. 12, ending a recent streak of large Powerball awards. If no ticket wins, the jackpot will roll over to the next drawing scheduled for Monday, Oct. 5, at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET.

Powerball drawings occur three times a week—Monday, Wednesday and Saturday—and are broadcast live on the Powerball website, with replays available on its YouTube channel. Tickets cost $2 and are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands; an additional $1 secures the Power Play option, which can increase non-jackpot prizes by up to ten times.
