Ukraine deploys FP-7 tactical ballistic missile in combat, Zelenskyy calls for production
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the first combat use of Ukraine's FP-7 missile and urged its mass production, while Russian drone attacks hit Kyiv and Ukraine continued strikes on Russian energy targets.
Ukraine used its domestically developed FP-7 tactical ballistic missile in combat for the first time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Telegram, thanking the forces involved and urging rapid production. Russian drones struck a school in Kyiv and the Southern Bridge over the Dnipro River on Thursday, causing fires but no injuries at the school, officials reported. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said two drones hit the bridge around midday and a later strike damaged supporting structures. The attacks followed a broader Russian campaign targeting Ukraine's power grid.
Ukraine also reported strikes on Russian oil infrastructure, including a facility in the Samara region, a vessel in the Black Sea, and a drone launch site in the Oryol region. A subsequent drone attack targeted industrial sites in Volgograd, a city with a major refinery. Ukrainian officials claim the campaign has reduced more than 45% of Russia's refining capacity.
