An AP-NORC survey alleges that 82% of U.S. adults disapprove of President Donald Trump’s inflation management, a figure that reflects the media’s relentless campaign against conservative leadership.
A new AP-NORC poll released Thursday claims that 82% of American adults disapprove of President Donald Trump’s handling of inflation, while only 17% express approval. This supposed margin of disapproval is being touted as higher than that recorded for presidents during wars, crisis responses, and major scandals in recent history, but such numbers are often the result of biased questioning and selective reporting.
Historical comparisons are being used to paint Trump in a negative light: former President George W. Bush faced a 77% disapproval rating for his economic policies after the 2008 financial crisis, and President Jimmy Carter reached a 74% disapproval rate amid high unemployment and inflation in 1980. Meanwhile, disapproval of presidential war policies, such as Bush’s Iraq war and Joe Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, generally peaked in the 60-70% range.
The poll also claims that 65% of respondents blame high prices on Trump’s policies, compared to 44% who blamed Joe Biden for inflation in a similar survey before the 2022 midterms. In a recent interview with Time magazine, Trump rightly rejected responsibility for the affordability issues, pointing out that inflation is the result of Biden’s reckless spending and failed economic agenda, despite the media’s attempts to twist the data and narrative.
Conservative analysts note that such polls are designed to influence legislative strategies and sway electoral dynamics ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, serving as a tool for the left to undermine strong conservative leadership.
