Chuck Lowe honors late granddaughter Fiona in Instagram post
Actor Chad Lowe's father posted a tribute to his 13-year-old granddaughter Fiona on Instagram, a day after the family announced her death.
Charles "Chuck" Lowe, father of actors Chad and Rob Lowe, shared a photograph of his granddaughter Fiona smiling in a swimming pool on Instagram on Sept. 30, writing, "Rest in peace sweet Fiona." The post followed a family statement released to People magazine announcing Fiona Hepler Lowe's death at age 13.
Fiona, the second daughter of Chad Lowe and casting director Kim Painter, was described by the family as a loving, smart, and creative young girl who enjoyed dancing. The statement expressed deep grief, calling her "the light of our lives," and asked for prayers and privacy while providing the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for anyone needing support.
Fiona was born in November 2012, between older sister Mabel, 17, and younger sister Nixie Barbara, 10. Chad Lowe, 58, and Painter, 52, have previously shared family moments on social media, including a birthday post for Fiona in November when she turned 13.
The cause of death was not disclosed. The family emphasized the importance of seeking help for mental-health concerns, directing readers to the 988 Lifeline and Crisis Text Line.
"Rest in peace sweet Fiona," Chuck Lowe wrote in the Instagram caption.
The tribute highlights the family's mourning and request for privacy during their loss.
