A flood watch covers most of Massachusetts through Monday night as a prolonged fall nor'easter delivers up to 9.4 inches of rain in some towns, prompting road closures and coastal flooding concerns.

A prolonged fall nor'easter is delivering heavy rain, strong winds and coastal flooding concerns across Massachusetts, with impacts expected to continue into the work week. A flood watch remains in effect for most of the state through late Monday night as rainfall causes flooding and makes some roads impassable. The National Weather Service reported that Sharon recorded 9.41 inches of rain, Bridgewater 7.47 inches, Camp Edwards 7.06 inches, Westwood 6.88 inches, Milton 6.84 inches, West Wareham 6.60 inches, West Bridgewater 6.32 inches, Norwood Memorial Airport 5.33 inches and Hanover 5.30 inches as of Sunday afternoon. Inland, a high wind warning is in force for Worcester County until noon Sunday.

"A flood watch is in effect for most of Massachusetts through late Monday night as excessive rainfall continues to cause flooding and make some roads impassable," officials said. The list will be updated as additional reports become available.
