Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber Arrange Small Funeral for Son Presley Gerber After Cremation

Summary

Presley Gerber, 27, was cremated following his death at a halfway house on Sept. 20; his parents plan a modest service while authorities continue a non-foul-play investigation.

Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of model Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died on Sept. 20 in a bedroom at a Santa Monica halfway house. A death certificate shows he was cremated a few days after the incident, and his parents intend to keep his ashes at home while arranging a small funeral, likely at Forest Lawn or Malibu Presbyterian Church later this week.

Santa Monica police responded to a report of cardiac arrest at the facility and have opened an investigation. Officials said there is "no indication of foul play" at the scene, and the medical examiner has not yet released a cause of death pending test results.

Friends of the family, including Amal and George Clooney, visited Crawford and Gerber on Sept. 22, according to reports. The owner of the residence where Gerber was found, Dr. Reza Nabavi, is a licensed psychologist with a prior criminal record for drug-related offenses in 2002.

Gerber had previously discussed his mental-health struggles on social media, and his sister Kaia Gerber spoke about his addiction in a Vogue interview, describing the impact of his death on the family.
