Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers returns to practice after hamstring injury
Baltimore's top receiver Zay Flowers participated in a practice session on Friday following a hamstring strain that kept him out of the first two games, and his status for the upcoming Week 3 matchup remains uncertain.
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers was seen working out on his own before joining the team’s practice on Friday, marking his first on-field activity since aggravating a hamstring strain in Week 1. The team has not yet released its official injury report, but Flowers is expected to be listed as questionable for the Week 3 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Head coach Jesse Minter previously said Flowers had "a good shot" at playing in Week 3, though his absence from today’s practice casts doubt on that optimism. If Flowers does travel to Brazil for the team’s pre-game preparations, he could be evaluated during warm-ups before a final decision is made.
In Flowers’ absence, fellow receiver Rashod Bateman, who recorded seven catches for 88 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens’ Week 1 win, is likely to see an increased workload. Tight end Mark Andrews may also see a slight uptick in targets, especially after the team placed wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane on injured reserve.
The Ravens also have defensive players Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) and Teddye Buchanan (knee) listed as potential returns for the upcoming game. An official injury report is expected later today.
