Accuser of Jay-Z Recants Allegations of Assault
A woman who accused Jay-Z of sexual assault has retracted her claims, stating they were false in a recent court declaration.
A woman identified as Jane Doe has recanted her allegations against rapper Jay-Z, stating in a Manhattan federal court declaration that her original claims were false. Doe had previously filed a civil lawsuit in 2024, alleging that Jay-Z and Sean Combs drugged and raped her when she was 13 years old. She was represented by attorney Tony Buzbee, who has a history of filing sexual harassment lawsuits against Combs.
In her recent declaration, Doe stated, "Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter never raped me. I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever." Following her retraction, she has been dismissed as a defendant in Jay-Z's lawsuit against Buzbee and Doe for malicious prosecution and defamation. Both Jay-Z and Combs had denied the allegations, with Jay-Z claiming he was the target of an extortion scheme. The Buzbee Law Firm has not responded to requests for comment.
