Fantasy analyst Justin Boone recommends Week 3 starters and benchings

Summary

Justin Boone outlines his top fantasy football picks for Week 3, highlighting quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends to start, while identifying several players to sit.

Fantasy analyst Justin Boone released his Week 3 start-sit recommendations, focusing on players he believes will deliver strong fantasy points. He highlighted Detroit quarterback Jared Goff, who threw four touchdowns in his previous game, as a top-10 option at home against the Jets. Boone also suggested Kyler Murray, now cleared of concussion symptoms, and Tyler Shough, who posted top-eight fantasy scores in the first two weeks.

Running back Chuba Hubbard of the Panthers earned a start, with recent production of 151 scrimmage yards, five receptions and three touchdowns, and a favorable matchup against a Cleveland defense that has allowed significant yardage. Additional RB suggestions included Breece Hall, David Montgomery and Quinshon Judkins.

At wide receiver, Boone recommended Ravens’ Rashod Bateman, who recorded seven catches for 88 yards and a touchdown when a teammate was sidelined, and noted his potential in a high-scoring game. He also listed Tee Higgins, Tetairoa McMillan and Deebo Samuel Sr. as viable options.

For tight end, veteran Dalton Schultz was singled out after a 14-target, 140-yard performance, positioning him as a top-10 choice. Terrance Ferguson and Mark Andrews were also mentioned as startable.

Boone advised benching several quarterbacks, including Broncos rookie Bo Nix, who has struggled in his first two outings, and Matthew Stafford, who faced a tough defensive matchup. He also recommended sitting running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson due to limited upside against Jacksonville’s defense, as well as Travis Etienne Jr. and J.K. Dobbins because of usage concerns and injuries.

Wide receivers Stefon Diggs, Terry McLaurin, Luther Burden III, Rome Odunze, Courtland Sutton and Brian Thomas Jr. were listed as bench options, primarily due to unfavorable matchups or limited production. Tight ends Colston Loveland and others were also advised to sit until more favorable circumstances arise.
