Resumen

Apple will begin pre-orders for its first foldable iPhone Duo on October 16, with shipments starting October 23, alongside a slate of new Macs, home devices and iOS updates slated for the month.

Apple announced that pre-orders for its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, will open at 5 a.m. PT on Friday, October 16, with the first deliveries scheduled for October 23. The device will be available for pre-order in more than 70 countries and regions, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, Japan and several European and Asian markets, and will reach additional locations a week later.

The company also expects to launch a range of other hardware in October. Reported items include a touchscreen-equipped MacBook Pro or Ultra with an OLED display, an M6-based iMac with new color options, an updated 14-inch MacBook Pro, a refreshed Apple TV 4K powered by an A19 or A19 Pro chip with Siri AI integration, a new HomePad home hub featuring a built-in touchscreen, a second-generation HomePod mini with upgraded audio, and an iPad mini equipped with an OLED screen and an A19 Pro or A20 Pro processor.

Software updates are slated to accompany the hardware releases. The iPhone Duo will ship with iOS 27.1, which is expected to be tailored primarily for the foldable device, while iOS 27.2, currently in beta testing, will be rolled out to all iPhone models before the end of the month. iOS 27.2 adds features such as profiles for the Apple TV app on iPhone and iPad, a Dual Capture option for Group FaceTime calls, expanded language support for Siri AI, and enhancements to Apple Music and CarPlay Ultra. An updated Health app with Apple Intelligence features is also present in the beta but is slated to appear in a later iOS 27.3 release.
