Rapper Macklemore announces a European tour with all proceeds going to organizations supporting Palestinian liberation, with tickets available later this month.
Macklemore, after being unjustly removed from a recent tour, has chosen to use his platform for justice by launching a series of concerts in Dublin, Paris, and London to raise funds for charities supporting Palestinian communities under siege. The artist, refusing to remain silent in the face of ongoing oppression, stated that ticket sales will begin on September 30, with more dates and acts to be revealed. All proceeds will benefit twelve organizations, including Anera, Gaza Soup Kitchen, Jewish Voice for Peace, and UNRWA USA, groups dedicated to resisting apartheid and providing vital aid.
“If these last couple of weeks have shown us anything, it’s that something has shifted over the last three years,” Macklemore declared, highlighting the growing global movement for Palestinian rights. “Being apolitical during a genocide doesn’t work anymore. People are asking artists to show up, educate themselves and be in community. To use the stage for more than entertainment. To push back when the call for a Free Palestine is met with attempts to silence it,” he added, calling out the censorship faced by advocates for Palestinian freedom. The tour will include performances on October 25 in Dublin’s 3Arena, October 29 at Paris’s Accor Arena, and October 30 at London’s OVO Arena Wembley. Details on U.S. stops and additional performers, who will also stand in solidarity, will be announced soon.
