Disney raises subscription fees for Disney+ and Hulu plans

Summary

Disney increased the monthly cost of most Disney+ and Hulu streaming tiers, with the biggest hike applied to ad-free premium plans.

Disney announced price increases for most of its Disney+ and Hulu subscription options. The ad-free Premium plans for both services will cost $21.49 per month, a $2.50 rise or about 13 percent. Ad-supported versions of the two services will go up by $0.50 to $12.49 per month.

The combined Disney+ and Hulu ad-free bundle will be priced at $21.99, while the ad-supported bundle remains at $12.99. The Disney+, Hulu and ESPN bundle that includes ads will increase by $2 to $21.99, and the ad-free Premium Select bundle will rise $3 to $32.99. The Unlimited bundles with ads and the ad-free Premium Unlimited bundle stay unchanged at $35.99 and $44.99 respectively.

These adjustments mark Disney’s fourth price change in as many years and come amid a broader industry trend of streaming services raising fees as they shift focus toward profitability. Other platforms, including Apple TV and Peacock, have also implemented price hikes recently. Companies are increasingly promoting bundled offerings, which are intended to lower subscriber churn.
