Disney+ and Hulu raise ad-free subscription fees, bundle price also increases

Summary

Disney announced price hikes for its ad-free Disney+ and Hulu plans, adding $2.50 per month to each, while the combined bundle will rise by $2.

Disney will increase the monthly cost of its ad-free Disney+ and Hulu subscriptions to $21.49, a $2.50 rise or about 13 percent from the previous rate. The ad-supported tiers will go up by 50 cents to $12.49 for each service.

The ad-free Disney+/Hulu bundle will cost $21.99 per month, up $2, and the ad-supported bundle will rise to $12.99, a 50-cent increase. In both cases, the bundled price remains roughly half of the total cost of subscribing to the two services separately.

"Disney’s pricing strategy has for several years encouraged people to bundle the two streamers, as people with those plans tend to be less likely to cancel," a company spokesperson said.

Bloomberg reported the changes, which come a year after the previous price adjustments for the two platforms.
