Apple launches claims process for iPhone AI settlement
Apple has opened a claims portal for owners of iPhone 15 Pro models to receive up to $95 per device as part of a $250 million settlement over alleged false advertising of AI features.
Owners of iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max purchased between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, can now submit claims for a cash payment ranging from $25 to $95 per device, depending on the total number of claims filed. The settlement resolves multiple class-action lawsuits that accused Apple of misleading consumers about enhancements to its Siri virtual assistant. Apple denied the allegations but agreed to the settlement, which is pending court approval at a hearing scheduled for Feb. 24.
Eligible claimants must be U.S. residents who bought the devices new; resale purchases are excluded. Claims are filed online at smartphoneaisettlement.com, with a deadline of Dec. 21. Those who wish to opt out must send a written request to the settlement administrator by the same date.
"False advertising settlements aim to raise the floor of truth-telling, protect fair competition, and increase consumer choice," said Ryan Clarkson, founder of the law firm that represented consumers.
If approved, payments will be processed after the court’s decision, though any appeals could delay distribution. The settlement website advises claimants to be patient while the process is completed.
