Dolly Parton's Estate Undergoes Management Change After Nephew's Dismissal

Summary

Following Dolly Parton's death, her nephew and former head of security was terminated from his role as the estate's security firm was replaced, with oversight shifting to the DP Dean Trust.

Dolly Parton's estate has experienced a leadership shift after her nephew, Bryan Seaver, who served as her head of security, received a termination notice last week. The notice revoked his security company's contract and prompted new guards to take over protection at the singer's Nashville residence, warehouse and museum. Sources said longtime manager Danny Nozell and Pinnacle Bank were involved in the decision.

Seaver said he was "dismayed" by the "unexplained actions" and affirmed his commitment to the late singer's directive to protect her family, adding that he would not be intimidated by those he believes are acting in bad faith.

The estate's assets, properties and business interests are now being overseen by the DP Dean Trust, which the termination letter indicated will preserve Seaver's interest in the trust.

According to an unnamed source, Parton had detailed plans for her estate to avoid family disputes and to allocate a substantial portion of her wealth to charitable causes, including her Imagination Library program and other education and research initiatives. The source said she intended to ensure all family members were treated fairly and that no inheritance feud would arise.
