Apple distributes second iOS 27.2 beta to developers

Summary

Apple has released a second developer beta of iOS 27.2 and an iPadOS 27.2 beta, a week after the first iOS 27.2 beta became available.

Apple seeded a second beta of the upcoming iOS 27.2 update for developers on Tuesday, following the release of the first iOS 27.2 beta a week earlier. An iPadOS 27.2 beta was also made available at the same time. Registered developers can obtain the builds by opting in through Settings > General > Software Update and selecting the iOS 27 developer beta.

The iOS 27.2 beta introduces a redesigned Health app that adds Insight and Longevity tabs, and expands Siri’s AI capabilities to additional languages. Apple’s feature guide lists several other enhancements included in the build.

"iOS 27.2 includes Apple's redesigned Health app with new Insight and Longevity tabs. It also brings Siri AI in new languages," the company’s release notes state.

The beta rollout occurs ahead of the planned iOS 27.1 update, which is expected to accompany the launch of the iPhone Duo on October 23. iOS 27.1 is anticipated to provide updated app layouts and features tailored for the Duo’s dual-screen design, including a vertical dock, vertical Dynamic Island, dual-screen app arrangements, side-by-side multitasking, and exclusive camera functions. The iOS 27.2 update, featuring the new Siri language support, is expected to be released later in October.
