Chiefs coach attributes Travis Kelce's early-season surge to motivation from wife Taylor Swift
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said tight end Travis Kelke's strong performance in the first two games was partly driven by his dedication and the support of his wife, singer Taylor Swift.
Travis Kelce recorded 101 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Kansas City Chiefs' 33-30 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts, marking his first 100-yard regular-season game since November 2024. The Chiefs improved to 2-0 to start the season.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters that Kelce worked hard in the offseason and that his physical preparation, including strength and explosiveness, contributed to the result. Reid also suggested that Kelce's marriage to pop star Taylor Swift provides an additional source of motivation. > "He works his rear end off and I think Taylor, you're putting on four-hour shows, you've got to work hard, too. So, I'm sure she kicks him in the butt a little bit there, too," Reid said.
Swift has attended both Chiefs games this year, displaying her wedding ring after Kelce's touchdown against the Colts and publicly acknowledging him as her husband.
