Rodgers says Steelers offense must improve after 20-3 loss to Patriots

Resumen

Aaron Rodgers criticized the Steelers' offensive production following a 20-3 defeat by New England, noting the unit averaged eight points per game while the defense allowed 13.

The New England Patriots defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-3 on Sunday, improving to 1-1 on the season. The Patriots' defense forced two fumbles from 42-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers, one of which was returned for a touchdown, and also intercepted a fourth-quarter pass that ended a 72-yard drive.

Rodgers, who completed 23 of 39 passes for 187 yards with one interception and four sacks, said the Steelers' offense has not been productive. > "Defense has been playing great, they've been holding 13 points a game in two games. I think offensively, we're averaging, like eight points a game. It's not winning football. … When they hold them to 13 points, we've got to win the game," Rodgers told reporters.

He added that the offensive players need to "play better" and "give a little more," and emphasized that neither he nor head coach Mike McCarthy would panic after the loss. > "You're not gonna see me panic. I don't think Mike's gonna panic. Urgency's gonna go up a little bit, for sure. But no panic."

Pittsburgh managed 235 total yards, with no receiver exceeding 35 receiving yards. The Steelers' only points came from a 13-3 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1. New England's scoring came from a 39-yard touchdown run by rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson and the defensive touchdown on the second forced fumble.

The Patriots will look to build on the win as they prepare for a Week 3 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
