Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra and Pro expected to receive larger batteries, leak shows

Summary

Regulatory filings suggest the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro will feature batteries of roughly 5,700 mAh and 5,200 mAh respectively, marking a modest increase over the previous generation.

Regulatory documents obtained by a device database indicate that Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra will be equipped with a rated 5,534 mAh battery, likely marketed at about 5,700 mAh, while the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to have a rated 5,087 mAh unit, probably advertised near 5,200 mAh. The figures represent an increase of roughly 700 mAh, or 14%, for the Ultra compared with the prior-generation S26 Ultra, which carried a 4,855 mAh battery. Both models are listed with support for 60 W wired charging.

The leak follows Samsung’s recent adoption of silicon-carbon battery technology in its Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, though the new phones have not been officially confirmed to use the same chemistry. Industry analysts note that rival Android flagships are beginning to incorporate batteries exceeding 6,000 mAh, with some rumors citing an 8,000 mAh pack for the upcoming Oppo Find X10.

"Samsung’s full-size flagship is looking at a jump of around 700 mAh," a source familiar with the leak said.

The information comes as Samsung prepares to roll out its next Android version and One UI update across its device lineup.
