Fantasy football analysts give Week 2 start-sit recommendations for several players

Summary

Fantasy experts offered guidance on which running backs, wide receivers and tight ends to start or bench in Week 2, highlighting David Montgomery, Chuba Hubbard and Aaron Jones as favorable options while advising caution on Travis Etienne Jr. and Marvin Harrison Jr.

Fantasy football strategist Scott Pianowski released his Week 2 traffic report, outlining start-sit advice for a range of players. He gave a green light to running back David Montgomery, noting his 23 touches and involvement in the passing game against the Bengals, and to RB Chuba Hubbard, citing his solid Week 1 performance against the Falcons. Aaron Jones also received a recommendation, with the Chicago Bears' backfield now largely his after Jordan Mason was placed on injured reserve.

Wide receiver Mike Evans earned a start recommendation against the Dolphins, as he posted a strong debut and benefits from injuries to teammates. Quentin Johnson was highlighted as a potential beneficiary of reduced competition for targets in the Los Angeles Chargers offense.

Players receiving a yellow-light rating included WR Jayden Reed, who had a productive target count but limited production, and TE Mark Andrews, whose role may expand if Zay Flowers misses time. WR Devaughn Vele and WR Kalif Raymond were noted as lower-priority options based on their positions in their respective offenses.

Red-light warnings were issued for WR Marvin Harrison Jr., whose performance has lagged despite teammates thriving, and RB Travis Etienne Jr., who may shift to a committee role with competition from Kendre Miller and the return of Alvin Kamara. RB MarShawn Lloyd also received a caution after a difficult opening game.

"He was the hero in the comeback against Green Bay and with Kyler Murray (concussion) ruled out, Wentz can throw for multiple touchdowns against a weak Chicago secondary," Pianowski said of QB Carson Wentz.

The report aims to help fantasy managers make informed lineup decisions ahead of the second week of the NFL season.
